FIFA – A Sensible Decision
FIFA have confirmed that Tim Cahill will only miss one game.
This means that Tiny Tim will miss the Ghana game on Saturday but will return for selection against Serbia on Wednesday.
The news will come as a huge relief to the Australian team, not least Cahill who was reportedly besides himself following the controversial red card in the 4 – 0 defeat to Germany.
Skipper Phil Neville was quick to start the healing process “When I saw Tim Cahill receive a red card I knew instantly how much it would affect him, said Neville. “I instantly sent him a text and he got back to me shortly after; needless to say he was inconsolable.
“There was no point telling him to keep his chin up or anything like that; no words can comfort in such moments and all I could do was tell him that if he wanted to talk, I was only too happy to listen.
“I know how much effort Tim has put into making sure he is in peak physical condition for this tournament; he has looked after himself, worked tirelessly for Everton and at the same time geared himself up for South Africa.
Now that FIFA have made their decision we can all look forward to seeing a PeoplesBlog favorite flying the blue flag in the World Cup … Come On You Socceroooooooooooooo’s and put one in the net for us Tim!
Good Luck.
